We are looking for an Optical Network Engineer with CMTS (Cable modem termination system) experience.

Special support programs available to help everyone succeed.


  • 5+ years of experience as an Optical Network Engineer
  • Network design and implementation project experience in one or more of the following areas preferred: backbone, data center, headend/CMTS, and optical transport.
  • Experience with the following vendor products preferred: Advanced routing products from Juniper (MX), CMTS platforms from Arris (E6000) or Cisco (ubr10k) or Casa (C100G), Optical transport products from Alcatel-Lucent (1830).
  • Experience with IPv6, TR-069, DWDM, DOCSIS 3.1, SDN, and other relevant technologies and/or standards preferred.



  • Ability to work with CMTSs (Cable modem termination systems) with minimal supervision.



  • Performs implementation of new hardware and/or software as it relates to IP Engineering projects.
  • Maintains the lifecycle management environment within the Data Center, Head ends, and Local Offices; Performs upgrades to the internet product and all-inclusive IP routing/switching.
  • Assists with the review, and occasional development, of Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation for configuration templates, method of procedures, network diagrams, knowledge base articles, bill of materials and support documentation.
  • Works as part of a project team to determine risks and limitations for each project scope and requirements; verifies all requirements are met through production release.
  • Performs on-call duties and overnight network changes as assigned.
